Allegro’sA8517和A8522LED driver ICs were selected as finalists due to their leading edge features such as independent channel control, multiple load capability from a single boost, integrated DMOS boost FETs, and extremely high contrast ratio dimming capabilities. They are targeted at the automotive market with end applications to include automotive infotainment, navigation, cluster, center stack, heads up display (HUD), and LED daytime running lights (DRL).
“Our independently controlled multi-channel LED driver ICs are designed to provide the user with a flexible and versatile solution to maximize control, accuracy, protection, and diagnostics within a very small footprint. These ICs provide a highly integrated design with performance advantages to support numerous automotive applications,” said Vijay Mangtani, Business Unit Director of Power ICs at Allegro MicroSystems.
The Ultimate Products of the Year Award, awarded to the most significant product introduced in the last 12 months in 12 categories, is determined by large-scale peer review. Finalists in each category are chosen by expert editors from both EE Times and EDN with accompanying editorial reviews.
EE Times and EDN ACE Awards are presented in 25 categories and are judged by a blue-ribbon panel of industry experts, comprised of the leading voices of academia, industry executives, and content experts. The judges will choose winners in all categories except the STEM Impact Award. The winner in this category will be chosen by the EE Times and EDN communities.
